Catherine Wigginton Greene is a writer, filmmaker, and educator dedicated to strengthening human connection and understanding. She is deeply committed to raising racial awareness and inspiring action through stories, dialogue, and play-based experiences. For 20 years, she has created customized learning experiences for government, corporate, nonprofit, and educational clients, impacting hundreds of thousands of learners across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Catherine is a sought-after speaker and frequent guest on podcasts, news, and radio shows, and has presented at prestigious conferences such as SXSW, SXSWEdu, and LinkedIn Talent Connect. She holds a MS in journalism from Columbia University, and is pursuing a doctorate in curriculum studies at The George Washington University.
Catherine has provided training and curriculum development services in the education, private and government environments. She has collaborated with major public school districts across the U.S., providing coaching and programming for K-12 students, faculty, staff, and parents. In higher education, she offered content and workshops for students and faculty at esteemed institutions such as Vassar College, Baylor University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and The Ohio State University. She has further trained and conducted focus groups at Fortune 500 companies, such as Walmart, Principal Financial Group, Morgan Stanley, and IBM.
Catherine directed the groundbreaking documentary I’m Not Racist…Am I? , which follows a diverse group of teens exploring race and racism. She also created the innovative online anti-racism program Look Deeper: Race and facilitated the workshop “Was It Something I Said?” to teach effective dialogue strategies. She co-wrote and produced the stage comedy Let’s Take This Offline and co-authored the novel Rebecca, Not Becky (HarperCollins 2023), which explores themes of friendship, motherhood, and community within the context of American racial issues.
A trained journalist, she most recently served as Executive Director of Content and Engagement for Point Made Learning, where she provided programs and workshops focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion education. In this role, she delivered talks and led workshops for tens of thousands of people across the United States.
As a filmmaker, Catherine is the director of the feature documentary I’m Not Racist…Am I?, which follows a diverse group of teens and their families through a yearlong exploration of race and racism. She and her filmmaking partner have screened the film nationwide for the past decade, using it as a tool to spark critical dialogue on race and racism. In addition to the film, she has developed short educational videos, curricula, discussion guides, and a workshop series to help viewers engage more deeply with its subject matter.
Most recently, Catherine designed the interactive, online anti-racism program Look Deeper: Race and the experiential workshop “Was It Something I Said?”, which helps participants learn and practice strategies for effective dialogue addressing interpersonal and structural inequities. She also develops customized workshops and structured play experiences to help institutions and organizations better understand and address inequity in everyday interactions, practices, and policies.
Catherine’s previous work includes producing the documentary In 500 Words or Less, an examination of the college application process through the eyes of four teens and their families. This film and its discussion guides are used by high school guidance counselors nationwide to prepare students and their caregivers for the college search process. She also wrote and produced the video series Adopted: We Can Do Better to provide white adoptive parents with the tools they need to rear children of color, a program that adoption agencies nationwide have designated as required viewing for prospective adoptive parents.
